When Iraqi refugees were streaming across the border at the beginning of the war, hundreds were trapped in the no-man’s-land between Iraq and Syria, without food, water, or other necessities.  IDRB, in partnership with UNRWA, helped provide for these needs on the Tanaf border.

IDRB also provided the majority of funding for a new extension to the Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre in Dera’a, Syria, in 2008.  IDRB was able to build this new extension and provide a safe environment for impoverished deaf children to receive the education they needed.

Also in partnership with UNRWA, IDRB sponsored summer camps for orphans and handicapped Palestinian children in Syria.

No further projects are currently underway, as the war in Syria has severely limited travel of foreign nationals.
